Rita joined Zacco in 2000. She works in the Chemical and Biotechnology Department, primarily with patent consultancy in general, with drafting and prosecution of patent applications particularly in the area of organic chemistry, with food sciences and pharmaceuticals and with professional opinions and litigation cases.

From 1988 to 1991, Rita worked at the Norwegian Patent Office as an examiner. In 1991 she was employed in the corporate patent and trademark department at Norsk Hydro ASA. In this period Rita drafted and prosecuted a number of patent applications and acquired high competence in the patenting field, also outside Norway. Designs and trademarks are also within her area of expertise.

Rita graduated with a Master of Science degree in Chemistry from the Norwegian Institute of Technology (NTH) in 1988. She has completed professional patent education through the Scandinavian Patent Attorney Society in Stockholm. She has also completed introductory courses for EQE arranged by CEIPI and Norsk Hydro ASA.

Rita is a member of the Association of Norwegian Patent Agents, the Norwegian Society of Chartered Engineers, NIR, FICPI and AIPPI.
