Burhaan has worked as a Marine Seismic QC Geophysicist Trainee at Petroleum Geo-Services (PGS) from 2014-2015. There he was among other tasks responsible for collecting seismic data, verification work, quality control of seismic sources, data analysis, acquired on the seismic vessel “Ramform Titan”, ensuring that data was collected according to client specifications. During this time he worked with projects in Trinidad and Tobago, Tanzania, Mozambique and Myanmar. From 2010 - 2014 he worked as an Examiner at the Norwegian Patent Office in the field of Oil and Gas technology, particularly for examination of patent applications related to seismology, well logging, downhole separation, well installations and well cleaning. Burhaan has worked with Zacco since 2015.
In addition to traditional examiner responsibilities he was also part of an in-house team focusing on customer related activities.
At Zacco, he works primarily with patent consultancy in general, i.e. with drafting and prosecution of patent applications in the mechanical field of technology.
Burhaan graduated with a M.Sc. degree in Petroleum Geophysics from Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in 2010, specializing in geophysics with a thesis on “4D rock physics and dynamic RPTs for sandstone"., and a masters project in "Fluid and pressure sensitivity in consolidated and unconsolidated sandstones".
Burhaan is a member of Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG).
He has been ranked as a Rising Star by Managing IP as a result of the MIP World IP Survey 2018.
