Michael renders advice on all aspects of intellectual property rights in particular on trademark and design protection with a strong focus on strategy and business development. He counsels and assists our clients in their innovation and product/brand development processes with the identification and clearance of key intellectual property and on how to protect such intellectual property in contracts with employees, consultants, partners and customers, or by registration. Michael advises national and international clients in complex and strategic cases on establishment, maintenance and/or infringement of intellectual property rights always with an emphasis on the business of the clients.
Having advised especially Danish companies on the administration and enforcement of complex IP portfolios since 2001, Michael is highly experienced and has specialist knowledge of the relevant Acts and case-law in many jurisdictions world-wide including the EU, China and the US.
Michael joined Zacco in August 2016. Before joining Zacco he was a Trademark Specialist at Bech-Bruun Law Firm (2012-2016), Gorrissen Federspiel Law Firm (2007-2012) and Budde Schou (2001-2007). He is a professional representative before The Office for Harmonization in the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) and a member of various international associations active within the field of intellectual property. Michael has studied Intellectual Property at the University of Maastricht, the Netherlands, and graduated from the University of Aalborg with a Master of Science (MSc) in Business Administration and Commercial Law in 2000.
