About Nina Skivesen
Nina entered the world of IPR in 2015. Today she works at Zacco since 2019 with counselling, patent application drafting and prosecution both directly or through agents (In particular DK, EP, CN, US). This work also includes novelty search, patent and competitor surveillance and IPR strategy.
Nina holds a PhD degree in physics from Copenhagen University/Risoe national laboratories specializing in optical sensors for biological detection the aim was to develop new sensors for inline de online detection in manufacturing lines. She furthermore holds a M.Sc. Engineering, in optical Engineering and Materials Physic from Aalborg University, specializing in surface characterization, binding properties and modelling hereof.
Nina has subsequently to her PhD worked in academia and in industry. Her positions have included a post doc at iNano, Aarhus University within photonic crystals for sensor application and working as R&D engineer within equipment for the dairy industry. Her area of responsibility included material selection (Stainless steel, polymers, elastomers), components for optical communication and working with subcontractors and external collaborators, especially in connection with in-sourcing of production and authorization of products (Food grade materials, 3-A Sanitary Standards, REACH, EHEDG).
Nina also has experience with FTO/Competitor analysis, Due diligence overviews and IPR strategy for how and when to protect your immaterial  rights including patents, utility models, trade secrets and trademarks. Concurrently with her daily work, Nina has taken courses in European patent law and at the beginning of 2018 Nina finished the two-year CEIPI basic training course in European Patent Law as part of her training towards becoming a European Patent Attorney.
