Trademark Clearinghouse (TMCH) is the official centralised database of verified trademarks. Registering and verifying trademark ownership provides brand owners with an extra layer of security against domain abuse as well as early access to registration for Top-Level Domains (TLDs).

Early access to the sunrise period can become very valuable for brand owners, as it ensures you have priority to register any new domains that include your trademark before they are made available to the public. It is also helpful if a TLD related to your services is ever released.

Registering with Trademark Clearinghouse also provides a notification service that alerts us if a third-party register a new domain identical to your trademark under a new TLD. During the first 90 days of launch, the third party is also notified about their registration being a potential infringement.  For a small annual fee, this service can be extended indefinitely to alert us about any new gTLD domains registered by third parties, where your brand is included anywhere in the domain.

Registration also provides access to ‘block’ services, which prevent others from registering your trademark under a wide range of TLDs.These can be a very cost effective complement to your existing domain name ‘watch’ services.
