Simen has worked with IP since 2014. He advises clients on strategic patenting issues and deals with all matters relating to patenting such as searches, patent drafting, prosecution and oppositions. His technical expertise lies primarily in the mechanical field of technology, and has special interest and experience in fields of marine engineering, naval architecture and aquaculture. Simen has also aided several clients with research funding processes.
Simen joined Zacco as a patent attorney in 2021 after the merger with his previous employer, where he worked as a patent attorney from 2018. Prior to that, Simen worked as an Examiner within the field of ships, vessels, aquaculture, and renewable energy for the Norwegian Industrial Property Office. At the Norwegian Industrial Property Office, Simen was part of the lecture group and gave lectures at universities and conferences.
Simen graduated with a M.Sc. degree in Naval Architecture from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in 2014, specializing in marine systems with a master’s thesis in “System Based Design for Mobile Offshore Units”. He is now an EPI student and EQE Candidate.
