Helena Åkesson

Helena has worked as a patent attorney since 2019. Helena drafts and prosecutes patent applications in the field of materials technology, with a specialisation in metallurgy, as well as in the field of mechanical engineering in general. Helena also supports clients with patent searches, freedom to operate analyses and infringement assessments.

At Zacco, Helena provides strategic advice on using IP as a tool for increased profitability. Especially, Helena is experienced in advising small and medium size companies in building their patent portfolios, and how to navigate and prioritise early investments in IP.

Helena graduated in 2019 from KTH Royal Institute of Technology with a Master of Science in Material Technology. Before joining Zacco in 2026, Helena has worked as a patent attorney at another Swedish IP company.

Helena is a member of the Association of IP Professionals in Swedish Industry (SIPF), and a member of the industry association for the Swedish steel and mining industry Bergshandteringens Vänner (BHV).
