Helen Gray

Helen is an accomplished European Patent Attorney with over 30 years of experience in intellectual property. She offers comprehensive advice on all facets of intellectual property, with a particular emphasis on patent drafting and prosecution across Europe and the management of patent prosecution globally. Her expertise also includes providing advice on Freedom to Operate (FTO) and patent validity.

Her core specialization lies in European opposition and appeal procedures, where she has a distinguished record of representing clients in more than 100 opposition cases and oral proceedings.

Helen’s technical expertise spans a wide range of sectors, including telecommunications, semiconductor technology, optics, computer-related inventions, medical technology, robotics, and various areas of mechanics.

Before joining Zacco in 1998, Helen worked as a European Patent Attorney at a German IP firm in Hamburg. Her career also includes experience as an examiner at the European Patent Office (EPO) and as a design engineer in Toulouse, France. She holds a Master of Engineering in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from University College London (1988) and became a European Patent Attorney in 1996.
