Pernille has more than 30 years of experience in dealing with matters related to patent issues. Her special intellectual property expertise includes European patent practice, Danish patent and utility model practice, supplementary protection certificates (SPC’s), restoration of rights, infringement and validity opinions, EU legislation on bio patents, UPOV Convention and Scandinavian patent litigation.
Today she works in Zacco with counseling, prosecution and litigation within chemical and food technology, biochemistry, organic chemistry and pharmaceuticals.
Prior to joining Zacco, between 1982 and 2000 she worked 8 years as examiner and 12 years as office manager at the Danish Patent and Trademark Office. She joined Zacco in 2000.
Pernille holds a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering of 1980 from the Technical University of Denmark. She qualified as a European patent attorney in 2013 and in 2016 she completed the Centre for International Intellectual Property Studies course on patent litigation in Europe, allowing for representation of clients before the European Unified Patent Court. She is further a member of The Danish Society of Engineers, The Association of Danish Patent Agents, the Danish Association of Intellectual Property Rights and AIPPI. She also lectures and writes articles on general patent law, enforcement of patents in Denmark and EU legislation on biotechnological patents.
