IAM Patent 1000 2024 – 34 Colleagues ranked and Zacco listed as a top IP firm

Following months of research, IAM have announced their Patent 1000 Practitioner and Firm rankings for 2024 and we have 34 colleagues listed in the IAM 1000 list, up from 27 in 2023 and 23 in 2022. This is alongside the great news that Zacco Denmark and Zacco Norway have achieved their first Gold and Silver ranking respectively in the Firm: Prosecution categories, and Zacco Sweden retaining its top ranking as a Highly Recommended Firm. We have also retained our Bronze ranking in the prestigious EPO category and Bronze ranking in Germany for Prosecution and Nullity.
The IAM 1000 list recognises the international experts who stand out within the field of patent strategy, as well as development, protection and enforcement. The rankings are a combination of market research, feedback and submissions, and recognises those who clients and peers acknowledge as standing out from the crowd. There is a lot of competition, so to have so many colleagues recognised, and so many countries ranked, is testament to the diligence, creativity and quality of the work that is delivered across Zacco. The IAM rankings continue to be one of the ‘go-to’ guides for information on patent prosecution and litigation expertise, so we would like to offer a huge thank you to the clients, peers and others who have shared their thoughts on the work that we do.
Individual recommendations and rankings:
Those ranked in Denmark include Anders Fredriksson, Camilla Rendal Nielsen, Casper Struve, Thomas Sundien, Michael Schandorf Sørensen, Pernille Thorsboe, Elmin Tutkur and Tomas Wässingbo. Making the list for the first time, Stig Benthin, Jane Moller Nielsen and Sidse Thinggård are also included.
In Sweden, the list recognises Maria Börlin, Michael Byström, Ulf Juhlin-Dannfelt, Tomas Gustafsson, Sofia Larsson, Jörgen Linde, Johan Hervius Löthman, Malin Mattson, Patrik Olsson, Tommy Somlo and Martin Tranälv and Paul Winblad. They are joined this year by Lotta Norberg and Pia Norman.
In Norway, Stein Aamot, Hans Langan, Rita Lillegraven and Anne Sønstevold are included in the list, joined for the first time by Simen Svare Kristoffersen, Claus Christian Schmidt and Lars Henrik Stoud Platou.
Our colleagues from both Germany and the UK have been recognised as well, with Heiko Pittner once again achieving a ranking in Germany and Alison Lawson making her first appearance in the rankings for the UK.
We are very pleased to see nine new names on the Patent 1000 list with Stig, Jane, Sidse, Lotta, Pia, Simen, Claus and Lars Henrik making their first appearance this year. Also worth noting this years is Lars Henrik joining Martin as one of the few practitioners listed in both the IAM 1000 and WTR 1000, recognising the broad depth of their cross practice expertise.
