Mitrapurba joined Zacco in 2018 as a Patent Attorney and has worked in the field of Intellectual Property since 2015. She leads a team of attorneys and paralegals supporting clients with patent filings, prosecution, and strategy.
Her expertise spans a wide range of technologies, including telecommunications (5G and emerging 6G standards), robotics, automotive systems, industrial automation, image processing, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, cloud computing, Internet of Things (IoT), augmented and virtual reality. She has also supported IP strategies in mining, electric vehicles, and advanced mobility solutions, advising on how innovation in these sectors can be effectively protected and commercialized.
Mitrapurba has coordinated complex international IP portfolios across 50+ jurisdictions (including EP, US, IN, AU, CA, BR, CN, and others). She has played a strategic role in acting as the central hub between Zacco Europe, international agents, and Indian operations — effectively “spidering the web” to ensure seamless prosecution and enforcement.
Before joining Zacco, Mitrapurba worked as an in-house IPR consultant for a multinational software company and as an associate in the IP asset management team of an IP services firm in Bangalore. She frequently conducts workshops and training sessions for clients on IP policy, patent filing strategies, and commercialization best practices, reflecting her passion for strengthening IP awareness and building sustainable innovation strategies.
Mitrapurba is a Registered Indian Patent Agent (IN/PA 5730). She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Information Science and Engineering from Visvesvaraya Technological University (2012) and an LL.B. with honors in Intellectual Property Law from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur (2015).
