Alison Lawson

Alison joined Zacco in 2017, having worked as a patent attorney for a Birmingham firm of patent attorneys since 1999.  She is a Chartered Patent Attorney and European Patent Attorney, and has many years of experience in drafting, filing and prosecuting patent applications at the UK and European Patent Offices, and managing the prosecution of families of patent applications in many countries throughout the world.  She also provides advice on the validity and infringement of patents, registered and unregistered design rights within the UK and the development and implementation of IP Strategy.

Alison graduated from the University of Oxford in 1995 with an MA in Metallurgy and the Science of Materials.  She then stayed on at the University of Oxford to carry out research in the field of biomedical materials, and was awarded her doctorate (D.Phil.) in 1999.

Alison is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys (CIPA), and a member of the Institute of Professional Representatives before the European Patent Office (EPI).  She is also a Chartered Trade Mark Attorney and a member of the Chartered Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys (CITMA). Alison is ranked as a recommended individual by IAM Patent 1000.
