Bernd Lienau

Bernd is a European Patent Attorney and has joined Zacco in 2019.  He works with drafting, prosecution of patent applications, novelty searches, and patent oppositions and has qualified as a European Patent Attorney in 2024.

Bernd graduated in 2019 with a Master of Science in Physics at the University of Hamburg. In his Bachelor thesis, he was working in molecular physics, providing proof of principle of imaging molecular reactions with lasers. Continuing working within laser science, the focus of his Master’s thesis was the improvement of a quantum gas experiment, upgrading both hard- and software, and therefore he gained experience in digital image processing, computer sciences as well as mechanical engineering, CAD and optics and laser technology.

Bernd’s main technical fields of expertise include energy and offshore technology, including renewables, software, sensor and measurement technology, laser technology and medical equipment.
