WTR 1000 2023 ranks Zacco and 19 colleagues

World Trademark Review have recently released their WTR 1000 Practitioner and Firm rankings for 2023 and Zacco has again received a great result with 19 of our colleagues ranked on the list, as well as multiple recommendations and great feedback across the board.

Following months of research, WTR identifies and ranks only the top international experts who have made an impact on the trademark profession, on their clients and on their peers. The competition remains fierce every year and judgements are made that incorporate feedback from across the world of IP, market knowledge, capability and the amount and quality of the work delivered. The rankings remain the ‘go-to guide’ for information on trademark experts and expertise.

This year, we are really proud to share that 19 of our colleagues have been ranked within the list, up from 10 in 2022, alongside a Silver Ranking for firms in Denmark and in Trademark Prosecution and Strategy for firms in Sweden and Norway.

Individual Recommendations

The WTR 1000 list recognises individuals in private practice who go above and beyond for their clients. These are trademark and design attorneys who stand out as experts in their respective fields, acknowledging their stellar reputations for consistent quality in both strategy and delivery.

For Denmark, our recommended colleagues are Heidi Rehné, who operates from our Aarhus office, and Thomas Mølsgaard, Lone Prehn, Knud Wallberg and Fabio Pezzolato, who are joined for the first time by Bolette Isholt Andersen and Louise Thorning Ahle, and who are all based in our Head Office in Copenhagen.

In Sweden, you will find that Claes Agnvall (Stockholm) and Martin Tranälv (Gothenburg) have kept their individual recommendations, maintaining their reputations for excellence across a range of legal and trademark related strategy and implementation work with trademarks. They are joined this year by Maria Beijer (Malmö), Anders Sparlund (Gothenburg) and Malin Thunberg McCann (Stockholm)

In Norway, at our Oslo office, we once again see Frode André Moen, Tone Tangevald-Jensen and Per Vegard Bergheim on the list, with Lars Henrik Stoud Platou and Jens Herman Ruge making their first appearance.

We are also pleased to share that one of our colleagues from both the UK and Germany have been recognised for the first time as well, with Nils Köster (Bremen) and Iram Zaidi (London) taking their place on the list for the first time.

Firm rankings

Zacco Denmark has again been ranked as a Silver Firm while Zacco Sweden and Norway have achieved a Silver Ranking within Trademark Prosecution and Strategy.

Some of the reasoning and recommendations behind Zacco’s success in the rankings were noted in the announcement, including our “solid reputation for offering top-quality IP services, making the most of its sweeping international presence to seamlessly deliver 360-degree trademark protection from one location to the next.”

They also describe Zacco as ‘Modern, innovative and vibrant’ and ‘a mighty force on the trademark scene’, as well as a firm where “clients can tap into a wealth of international expertise making Zacco popular among global giants and start-ups alike.

To be independently recognised so highly in so many areas represents a great start to the year for Zacco. It represents recognition of our innovative approach to intellectual property and the comprehensive skills, knowledge and technical expertise available amongst our colleagues.

Feedback from clients has also highlighted their appreciation for the expanding number of complementary services we offer to our clients in related areas such as digital branding and cyber security
