Zacco takes gold in the IAM 1000 2025, with 42 colleagues individually ranked
30 May 2025
The IAM Patent 1000 has been released for 2025, with Zacco taking Gold for Patent Prosecution in Denmark again, and Sweden and Norway for the first time, alongside a Bronze ranking in the prestigious EPO category and Bronze ranking in Germany for Prosecution and Nullity. We would also like to congratulate the 42 Zacco colleagues listed across the group, including nine new names recognised across separate countries.
The IAM Patent 1000 annual release recognises months of research assessing international patent expertise and identifying those that stand out amongst their peers as expert strategists and advisors across patent development, protection and enforcement. We would first like to offer a huge thank you to the clients, peers and others who have shared their thoughts on the work that we do. The IAM rankings continue to be one of the ‘go-to’ guides for information on patent prosecution and litigation and with so many fine firms operating in the patent space competition is fierce. So many Gold rankings, alongside so many colleagues listed, recognises the high quality of our work, and the diligence and insight that can be found across Zacco internationally.
Individual recommendations:
The IAM 1000 list recognises individuals in private practice who go above and beyond for their clients. These are attorneys who stand out as experts in their respective fields, acknowledging their stellar reputations for consistent quality in both strategy and delivery.
Those ranked in Denmark include Anders Fredriksson, Stig Benthin, Camilla Rendal Nielsen, Casper Struve, Thomas Sundien, Michael Schandorf Sørensen, Sidse Thinggård, Pernille Thorsboe, Elmin Tutkur and Tomas Wässingbo. Making the list for the first time is Andreas Lindgren and returning to the list after some years in-house is Bent Lundsager.
In Sweden, the list recognises Maria Börlin, Michael Byström, Ulf Juhlin-Dannfelt, Tomas Gustafsson, Sofia Larsson, Jörgen Linde, Johan Hervius Löthman, Malin Mattson, Lotta Norberg, Pia Norman, Patrik Olsson, Tommy Somlo, Martin Tranälv and Paul Winblad. They are joined this year by Jenny Carlsson, Viktor Cragéus and Henrik Hägglöf, and Hannes Jansson, who has been recognised in the new ‘Next Generation’ category.
In Norway, Stein Aamot, Hans Langan, Simen Svare Kristoffersen, Rita Lillegraven, Claus Christian Schmidt, Anne Sønstevold and Lars Henrik Stoud Platou are included in the list, joined for the first time by Nina Westberg.
Our colleagues from both Germany and the UK have been recognised as well, with Heiko Pittner once again achieving a ranking in Germany and joined this year by Michael Kudera, alongside Alison Lawson ranked in the UK, joined this year by Stuart Clarkson.
Worth noting again, is the recognition of Lars Henrik and Martin, who are in the very select club of practitioners listed across both the IAM 1000 and WTR 1000, recognising the broad depth of their cross-practice expertise. A huge congratulations to all of our colleagues, but particularly to the nine new names on the list – Andreas, Bent, Jenny, Viktor, Henrik, Hannes, Nina, Michael and Stuart, and to our Swedish and Norwegian colleagues who have achieved a Gold ranking for the first time!
